well for starters lets start by saying some updates and random stuff.

facebook, i have become addicted, some nights i am just on facebook for at least 2 hours, sometimes doing homework in between sending messages and playing apps (currently addicted to mobsters2 and farmville). i know that its really bad and i am holding back a little bit, i have been on less this week.

i began my new life last week, i have started working out at least one intense hour a day, and at the moment i feel like shit because on saturday morning i had to go to a training session, i went but unfortunately i had a really crappy nights sleep, i had to sleep on a crappy little couch in a little cottage behind the small woodbridge mansion (well, compared to werribee mansion it was pissy) or what ever that building is next the the boat shed at school. 

anyway on to the main feature.

cyber bullying, we've all heard about it and the "serious" effects it has on people and today, since the classify sms's and mobile phones as cyber bullying, i am going to concentrate on internets. (social networking and email))

my definition of bullying on the internet specifically is: constantly putting down of a person by someone who actually knows their real name and has some kind of real world relationship. that is my definition because, they are people who are part of the bullied persons life, school mate, work mate, mate. i personally can handle fuckwits on the internet,its all part of the fun and games, when i feel like having a thrill and hang on the newgrrounds.com bbs or omegle.com i can handle that people are going to say dumbffuck things because ican respect that this may be their time to be able to hang loose and just mess around for an hour or two, but when it happens constantly thats when i would start blocking etc.

just the other day i blocked a dickhead from school on myspace because he made a bad comment about me on myspace, and he puts me down at school, plus he's a total retard; so i blocked him, it really wasn't hard.

and on the news they make a big deal over it, how kids have have started getting real depressed and even to the extent of killing themselves and becoming afraid.what people aren't mentioning are the various blocking settings in pretty much all of the social networking and email services; and what i don't understand is why people that are bullied online don't use these features. well sure, it can take 5 minutes for someone to make a new account and continue to bully/harrass, but it takes 5 seconds to block them, and when it gets serious, pm the moderators, they can i.p ban, meaning that they can block the user from their home.

now to get inside the features of myspace, facebook, hotmail, gmail and yahoo, these are the services that i use/used and they are possibly the most well known in the world; then i will talk about forums and things like that.

myspace, very big, money makers, somehow. they are a sponsor of the Oaktree foundation and are very big with younger people (15 and under i think) its very colourful, very customisable, easy to use and quite fun. unfortunately is a well used place for "cyber bullying". while starting on myspace, lets say that it is actually quite hard for someone to be able to saying anything to a user without being a friend. (i will put some screenshots btw)

when a user logs into myspace they are taken straight to a page where they can view all the news from their friends

for ease of explanation lets use sparky.

when sparky logs onto myspace he is taken to his "homepage" where he can view comments and news from his friends where he can start conversations and stuff. at the top of his page there is an [edit profile] button and when he clicks it he goes to a great place where he can set all his settings that he has ever dreamed of.

now there was this real dickweed at school named bricky, he was always bullying him on myspace, calling him a retard and a wierdo, so what sparkys friend said was "just block him".

so from this place

he clicked on the account settings at the top and then had a little look at all the options he had.

 he can edit his contact info, account, password, privacy, spam, notifications, applications, myspaceid, im, mobile, calendar and miscellaneous.

all these options, and they aren't even discussed on television, not from what i've seen/heard anyway, adults are just using it as another excuse for young adults and older children even, not to use the internet, it really annoys me.

next sparky is going to block everyone except his friends and brick.

so sparky now clicks on the privacy button and WOAH there is all these options::

might i also add that some of these settings are the sign up section of the website. and that its total bullcrap that kids can say that they can't stop it.

so in sparkys situation he will select the "only my friends can view my <comments/photo's/anything> page" because that means that only people that sparky has APPROVED as a friend will be able to have access to any of those things.

otherwise you can actually block each person by clicking on the friends tab and clicking on the "delete friends button"

 thats pretty much everything, case solved, if the bricky in your life has gotten into your friends list, get the hell rid of him/her. it isn't that hard and seriously, if i hear someone bitch about it i am going to link them straight here.

so that was myspace, personally i haven't used it for a while, i'll keep it incase anyone has a grudge on facebook, but otherwise its only for the slipknot blog. :P

speaking of facebook, thats the next in depth instructions i am willing to give.

facebook is possibly the easiest and best social networking website i have ever used ( i have tried, bebo, myspace, facebook and tagged, possibly a couple more and penpal websites if they include).

it is easy to use and navigate. sometimes it is hard to check on groups and other such things but thanks to the searchbar, we can find just about anything and anyone of facebook.

scary?... nah

this is easier to fix than on myspace.

ok, so sparket has logged onto her facebook and is taken to a page pretty similiair to the one that mysace displays; it has people moods, comments, updates, farmville medals and the like...

and bricky has started calling sparket a slut because she took some fun photo's with her girlfriends, and because we all know that girls are close to their friends, of course they are going to pretend to kiss and all that.

ANYWAY, bricky is being a prick and sparket is sick of him.

SO firstly she wants to block bricky, so (because it shows on her page) onto his name/link that goes to his profile.

will explain accidental friend deletion at the end btw. also the black lines are my friends names and i'm sure they wouldn't want their name's exploited on such a famous blog... :'(

now assuming that bricky is not her friend she goes to his profile and simply clicks the 
report/block this person button. and sparcket then can block bricky AND report him for cyber bullying

 thats just for a person by person type thing.

for ultimate protection sparket will have to hover over the settings menu at the top of the page next to the searchbar and select the privacy settings menu.

 and from there click on the profile button and as you can see, these are the perfect settings for blocking everyone from seeing YOUR news.

the reaon i put YOUR in caps is because if your friend for some reason is friends with a person you aren't a fan of (the bully/bricky in your life) you can sometimes see what they have said and if it is about you thats when you may have to use the first method and block them.

just quickly because it has actually happened to a friend of mine: how to delete "friends"

ok, so this is a lot easier than on myspace, you click on the friends button, then locate the friends button under lists on the right and select it, then find the "friend" and click on the the on the far right of their name and then remove on the little notice it will come up with.

pretty easy.

total revamp on most things.

i am also soon adding a page where newgrounders can submit and find abusive reviews and stolen flash because they recently closed down the thread that was previously doing that.

also i have created my own special google search that only searches youtube, wikiepdia, newgrounds, filehippo and google :P

am actually also going going to try and make my own full on site in dreamweaver on my school computers, because these freewebs ones are starting to annoy me.

also i recently started a google adsense account and have started trying to make e-monniez also trying to make flash monniez with newgrounds' system.

had book club today and we were talking about horror books, i have'nt read many horror books in my life so i couldn't really say much, i don't really like horror, most are really predictable. today some old students came to school and talked to me and some other guys about their career's and how they got there, it was pretty interesting. also today i made a simple tween in flash cs4 pro it was cool because cs4 is really cool, also thanks to kirupa.net i managed to make my symbol move and fade in and out, it was really cool, ii'll try and upload it here along with my other flash some day... it would be cool if newgrounds had an embedding feature like some other sites i know of.

UPDATES TO SITE

  i added a google search bar for my convenience (this is my home page) and i alsoadded a twitter follow button, so yeah thats pretty much it,

its the second week back at school and i am exausted, today wasmy schools WHOLE SCHOOL PHOTO which only happens like every 6 years, so i'm lucky that i was here for that.

last weekend guildford grammer absaloutely owned wesley 54-5 in seconds rugby (the second ruby team for my school) we played brilliantly and wesley just couldn't handle our awesomeness, anyway.

on tuesday i hurt my back during training and REALLY FUCKING HURTS, so that sucks.

the pressure of school is really starting to hit, exams are coming up soon and shit is going to fly for about 2 weeks, i think i can succeed in most of my subjects except for engineering studies, i'm really not doing very well with engineering studies, i think i should definitely organise a set time and day a week to see my teacher to have more one on one sessions with him, because during class i'm just not understanding it and my class is full of arseholes.

i'm thinking of changing to a different subject.

i dunno, it'll sort itself out i supoose.

i'm going to try and do more with this site, i want some more traffic. but i need something to bring people here. i have nothing,

i would like to start making some basic designs for objects and buildings, hopefully one day someone important will see them and i can sell them my stuff.

if anyone ends up reading this can they tell me if there is a right click vutton disabling option for freewebs.com site, because that would stop people from stealing that stuff.

i am learning about all this kind of copyrights stuff in AIT and its really scary how un-protected our information is on the internet.

ANYWAY, onto some more positive stuff and a rant:

during the holiday i got a job and the pay was awesome,all up i think i earned around 400 dollars, my first pay was like 250 bucks, which i spent on stuff that i can't even remember, then on my second week and after i got back to school i bought the NINTENDO DSi!!!!!

and its really awesome, i have taken some pics and they are awesome, i also bought chinatown wars, which is a really good game, and i think its GTA's comeback to its home: th gameboy, where (i think) it originated. like bert newton and channel 9...

so yeah, i'm also going to get pokemon platinium when it comes out.

BUT the con is this: IT DOESN"T PLAY MP3's GOD DAMNIT@!!!@!#!#$#!@#@#$

this really annoys me because most of my music are mp3's and no they are not downloaded, i actually prefer listening from a CD player but they aren't exactly portable and the portable ones are crap.

so i am converting them, right now using this awesome audio converter  . its only awesome because its free and it seems to be doing it.

if you are converting your Audio for YOUR DSi convert it to a .M4a, this is a file that works, website say that it suppors AAC files, but i tried it and it doesn't, i don't fully understand it so i just thought i'd say that .m4a's do work.

i'm going to make a video of me doing something dumb in runescape with my new  Capture Fox that i downloaded for my firefox internet explorer.

well its ten days till the end of the first term of school.

this term was good in that i got into some new subjects and am finally learning stuff i WANT to learn, but it also sucks because there is all this new information that has to be learned, and year 11 and 12 are so much more important than the past years.

anyway.

i haven't made any flash for ages because the school only has that crappy cs4 flash, so im going to try and self learn a bit in cs4. i was thinking having a couple of other people from newgrounds to help me with a project i want to do, it involoves a screenplay that matthew reilly (my fave author) wrote a couple of years ago, he say's on his website that anyone can use it, on one condition.

that we give him a copy.

so yeah, that would involve at least 1-2 animators 2 or 3 voice peoples and maybe some other blokes that just want to put in a background.

aahhh.

well i have decided that i will put updates here aswell as the normal greeting, i might make it fancy by putting the updates in a little box inside the welcome screen... but about that later.

it is the end of another year, another year of blood sweat tears and othher odily fluids. i have gone up in the food chain at school and am officially a crazy rower. this year i have increased my flash knowledge and am getting the finer details of animating (sort of).

and now to something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

i have recently (today) bought a copy of metal hammer, an english heavy metal magazine, and this particular one i have bought takes me through the entire story of slipknot and their three albums and the new one. i really used to hate bands that made music like this but songs like "before i forget" by slipknot and "down with the sickness" by disturbed opened my eyes to SHOCK ROCK and that their music has a meaning as well. i may get the new slipknot album which is called "All Hope Is Gone" and i REALLY want to get a corey taylor mask from this new album (most of the band members change their masks avery album).

next year.....

well next year i begin year 11 which is high up in senior school in Australia, i begin a whole bunch of new subjects that i have hand picked, and one subject is one that i look forward is a computering class which will teach me about all the thing im interested in (except music) it will teach me web design, flash skills and programming and will teach me fancy photoshop tricks so i can dazzle you all with my new skills at the end on 09. next year i would really love to start a band so that im not nothing on sundays, i would really love to get in a band thats something like My Chemical Romance crossed with Meatloaf and SlipKnot, that would be awesome..... and i enjoy singing and i think that i could pull off being a singer, but thats far off and i need to concentrate on school so that if i fail being a rockstar or a famous flash artist, i will have an engineering degree to fall back on.

well seeming as i pretty much have the site up and running i should advertise it more, chuck it on myspace and facebook, newgrounds and email it to some friends i'd really like have a community where i can say what ever i want to everyone and everyone can say anything to everyone and not be judged harshly
